The Back-country Survival Match was designed specifically to be mounted on the out side of a fixed blade knife sheath. Over the years, I've played with just about every "flint" type fire starter I could find. Generally either they could not really be attached to a sheath or it would just break. I knew that there had to be something better. So, this is what I came up with. |
All BSM handles are machined from T6-6061 aircraft aluminum. They are then tumbled in abrasive media for about 8 hours to completely deburr them and give them a nice finish. They are assembled with both 2 ton epoxy and a steel spring pin. There is no way to unintentionally separate the handle from the rod.
Each BSM includes your choice of a whistle or glow in the dark cord end attached to the green or orange lanyard. These here are sold with out a sheath.
